The most Ive won was about $800 playing Ohio Lotto around the mid 1980s.

Got 5/6 on a QP. If I remember a player got 2 lines for a buck.

Odds were WAY better back then, and even getting 2 lines it was still hard to win the jackpot, which was $250,000.

I'm the other NO voter. If it wasn't for excel, I'd give up this chase. Excel back then wasn't as good. Back before the internet, you had to learn excel or a programming language on your own. That seems hard. Odds are worse now, but ways to collect and decipher data is much better. You just need to think outside the box. One more thing, I didn't know Jack back then. I just started playing the lottery three years ago.

Chances were much better in years past, Bob.

I say that's the reason we see the games changing more, and more quickly, and the addition of bonus balls.

The closer we get to catching up, the farther out of reach the games management puts them to stay one step ahead.

I don't have any information, but it wouldn't be a surprise to learn the lottery management companies keep tabs on how many winning tickets are sold, and once that number approaches their percentage of allowable winners (s... [ More ]

Here's the setup. We all know the further back we go the easier the lottery was to win. Odds were lower. There were even games like the Florida 5/26 where one could have won over and over again just by playing all the previous winning combinations. Some games were evenly devisable like the New Jersey 6/48 saving many wheeling dollars when putting all the numbers into play. And there were some two for a dollar games compared to two dollar games today. So the question is, knowing what we know toda... [ More ]
