In 1954 the U.S Marine Corps Memorial depicting the raising of our American Flag on Iowo Jima In 1945 was dedicated by President Dwight D. Eisenhower in Arlington, Virginia.

UMC the Marines made their first couregous amphibious landing at British New Providedence iSLAND In the Bahamas. They captured a British fort and thereby gained valuable supplies from there for General Washington's Army

in our Revolutionary War.
