I've never seen any threads about jackpot tickets from vending machines so I don't know. We have lottery vending machines in my state, but not many, so it wouldn't be easy for me to that study because I don't frequent the few places that have them.

The most common method to buy tickets is the terminal quick pick. The point of my studies is to try different methods of picking numbers to see if another method might get better results.

Interesting idea. I don't buy enough tickets to do that study.

Another thing I wonder about is have there been Power Ball or Mega Millions winner of jackpots from vending machines, and have any won huge jackpots (say, over $100 million) with a vending machine ticket? I don't think this is something you tested but if you have seen any threads/messages about this topic, can you post a link?

Your question is similar to mine, is another quick pick generator better than a lottery terminal? In my case it's the LP quick pick generator I'm testing while in yours, it's the vending machine quick pick generator.

If you wanted to study that, it would be easy to do if you're willing to buy 2 tickets for each drawing. Just buy one at a gas station and one at a vending machine and track the results in a spreadsheet. If you don't have Excel, you can download LibreOffice for free.

Your studies are interesting. I have been wondering if odds are better purchasing a QP ticket from a gas station/convenience store versus from a vending machine in a supermarket. Any thoughts on that, or is it too vague/general? Thanks.

Love the studies. I have been very informally tracking 3 lp generated picks against the winning numbers. I have had the best luck with cash for life and seem to get 2 winning numbers in the same row for 2-3 drawings in a row then it stops for a few days to a week.

I can get a hit off of terminal QP's now and then so that is what I like to play since I just play one or two tickets for powerball and mega millions. Granted it will usually be just the powerball so I use the multiplier with it for extra money.-weshar75

I just finished another study of Lottery Post vs Terminal quick picks. Similar to my Louisiana Lotto study, over the course of 20 drawings, I played a terminal quick pick and a Lottery Post quick pick side by side to see what the results would be. One thing that made this study different was I was actually watching 2 sets of numbers, the five white balls and the red Powerball. Here are the results of my study.
