After you explained past draws maybe useful in pick 3 games Doc concluded from that the same logic should apply to a 6/49 lotto game. Should we tell him pick 3 games usually have 1000 possible outcomes and his lotto game has close to 14 million?

Past drawings can be useful in creating pick 3 and 4 spot plays but very difficult to win the $millions Doc thinks he can by creating a sophisticated system guaranteeing a jackpot win.

Check out the my state Pennsylvania lottery results for treasure hunt. Look at the winning numbers starting 1/12/23 and follow 11, you will observe every time lately when 11 is in the last winning number 12 comes in the next draw. I'd like to think that all the predictors here are loving numbers and predicting from instinct after observation. Some of them do really well at too.

Some lotteries average almost a $1 million in daily pick 3 sales and 1/2 million in daily prize payouts. There probably are a few players showing profit.

When I use to tend bar in Jersey City, the property was a block up from Holland Tunnel NY Exit side with a Lottery Kiosk and a C Liquor license which meant it could only sell soft and hard alcohol from over the counter with customers seated at a 14 seat bar. Way over simplified. Yes, we know if we chart the totals from each position the 3 middle numbers produce a delta. We also know the outside numbers will be closer to the ends.

Any number of people here (myself included) have taken the best hitting 5 to 10 numbers in each position and compared those to the winning sets. Haven't seen one declared a winning method yet, but it shows some wins here and there.

I think Pick 3 players are always going to lose more than they win.

Almost every lottery player is going to lose more than the win, regardless of the game. The only exceptions are the lucky few who hit jackpots (assuming they are not players who spend millions on the lottery). That's how the games are designed. Otherwise the state would not profit.

Individual numbers can't be predicted consistently. I believe you need to break down any jackpot lottery into groups. Then keep stats on those groups. When a group is due. Is 1,2 or 3 numbers due from that group? This is how you can narrow it down. You have to keep records of each draw and over time you'll see patterns. Sure past draws do count in the lottery and that is the format I used in predicting future draws. Base on my observation for over 15 years I've used yesterday results to predict todays draw. For example check up the PA lottery Treasure hunts game and you will noticed every individual number moves with a specific for a giving period. Don't have a 4/35 systems so when I play Cashball 225 it's a line of dates and a couple QPs. KY just started a 5/39 game but the payoffs are terrible compared to other lotteries with the same game. The Ohio 5/39 Rolling Cash has a $120,000 jackpot and KY's is $55,000.

Just like any company out to make money, when the lottery sees their net profits fall, they do something to balance the spreadsheet.

Then people who play the state games often end up on the short end. Since the state isn't selling the number of tickets it was jackpots go down.

When the Kentucky Lottery changed from televising their drawing on TV stations to streaming them, not very many players even knew they did. I don't know if Texas televises the draws or not. When it first started there was an excitement to watch. Through the years, the excitement waned and now I get the results from the site. I take a batch of 10-20 I haven't looked at to the store and scan them. Sometimes there are winners; sometimes not. I don't pay attention to the dates or games, don't look for the one ball stuff; doesn't matter (to me), lottery HQ ain't open at the time of the drawing anyway.

The computer RNG drawings are not shown live. KY has a Keno drawing every 4 minutes but the results are known before the animated screen starts showing gold colored balls landing on numbers. Scanned my ticket as the drawing started and it was a winner.

First, those statistical analysts are paid to find the draws are random. In Texas when the lottery first came in in 1992 they used a couple of universities......UT and A M.....to verify the fairness of the draws.

Second, it's simple PR. How do you get people to play a game if they don't think, and you don't prove, it's fair?

The Rolling Cash Five had three numbers hit last night that hit the previous night. And no one hit it. I was stunned. 1 and 36 have been very hot. Five hits each last eight draws. I do think past results can help in future predictions. I know, I know...each draw is separate because numbers don't have memories. But numbers for the most part only hit so much on average in 10 or 20 draws. Track each number and assign it a count. Then break down those counts to a hit percentage.

After changing to computer drawings the TN Lottery didn't even notice for over three weeks no duplicate digits were drawn in their pick 3 and 4 games. The Texas Lottery uses a pre-drawing testing process but the only changes they make are using a different ball set and/or another machine. If the digit 4 is drawn too many times during the test, they don't remove that ball, put in their pocket and then hold the drawing.
