They had a movie made about them called Jerry and Marge go Large. It's streaming on Paramount+. I really enjoyed the movie and after watching interviews with the real Jerry Selbee, I can say Bryan Cranston did a good job with the character.

I'd put them in the old news category because they did it in 2003, and also because their method relied on the game having a roll-down prize structure. I can't find any game in recent memory in any state that has this kind of prize structure that allows you to do what the Selbees did. I think state lotteries are aware of the Selbee method and want to avoid that happening again.

I can't edit this, and I'm not sure if I can post their last name, but there was a retired couple that was able to beat the system. I forget what game they were playing. Windfall? I know they eventually shut down the game. They did find a similar game, but I'm not sure if that game was also shut down or if the couple just quit because they'd won so much. Haven't played the lottery in probably 10-15 years and am so tempted because I need a reliable cash flow.
