The Lottos really should publish the repeat distribution, and number of plays per customer transaction, so that that P(x) could be better estimated.

Also, their quick pick PRNG repeat distribution should be published. That would expose any problems with the PRNG and its seeding.

There is only five or south secondary winners anyways, so yes, I would think that it's probably ready to roll one more two more times. I think the lotteries making the big money on scratch offs odds are at least a little bit better with them. That takes away from peoples gambling budgets . I don't play scratchers

OK. My local TV news in TX says the cash value of the $1 Billion PowerBall Jackpot after income taxes is $325 million. (You would instantly become an evil 1%-er.) The probability of a single random ticket winning is 1 in 292201338. Nobody knows how many tickets will be bought before the fact, but 350M might be a reasonable (very rough) estimate based on history. If everybody bought a Quick Pick, the Expected Value of the cash after-tax Jackpot (per the Binomial Distribution) would be about $189

It's relatively simple. The probabilities follow the Binomial Distribution if you assume the numbers for every ticket are chosen independently and randomly. (That is the case for a Quick Pick .) The probability of an individual random ticket winning Mega Millions is 1 in 302575350, for example. Powerball is slightly higher probability.

I remembered somebody that would figure out the probability of one winner of two winners or multiple winners on Powerball and mega million when I got to a certain level just curious if anybody can share the link
