I rewrote the parameter search code to be its own dedicated program, and wrote it in a SIMD (single instruction multiple data) way. Before, it was part of a lotto framework of other code, and the code was serial. Huge difference in speed. Parameter searches that previously were projected to take years to complete can now be done in less than a day! Matlab must have some optimization for multicore processing if code is written in a SIMD way. The CPU fan is on non-stop now.

Yes, two in a row. My short term goal was to improve white ball prediction, and it looks like that is starting to happen. My next short term goal is to get a few 4+1 challenge wins in the next 5 months. It's a reasonable short term goal that I think is achievable.

I'm doing large parameter searches now, but unfortunately, the searches currently take too long. The powerball predictor parameter search will finish in the next few days, but white ball parameter search is projected to take years... [ More ]

It looks like I got another 3+1 challenge win. Again, all predictor hits were from non-statistics based predictors. 39 and 49 weren't at all on my radar this draw.
