If a group buys every single combination, the will also win the lower tier prizes several times over, which increases their profits somewhat, though the extent to which it increases their profits depends on whether the state pays out fixed amounts or pari-mutuel amounts.

The real risk is that the jackpot is split. That would yield no profit for them.

Yes, but right now to cover all the combinations if a $1 a ticket ( I haven't found the ticket cost yet), the cost would be a little over $1,200,000 leaving only about $300,000. I think they would want a $5 million jackpot to make it worth their while.

Keep in mind that the recent LOTTO TEXAS had a range of 1-54 and a (six) 6 number combination to win. It would be much easier to game the NEW JERSEY Cash 5 LOTTO with a range of 1-45 and a (five) 5 number combination to secure the Jackpot
