How do you filter down any pool of plays in a pure vacuum?

Missing the context of previous plays... it would seem kinda pointless.

Hi, everyone, I've been working on this system forever, and I finally figured out that SECOND TO LAST PIECE of the puzzle. But there is one piece still missing and I hope someone can help me with it.
