The pick 3 version did everything but pick a winner... I have not tried any actual play on the pick 5 version yet. I did also make a version that can pick 6, such as a 6/49 game. Going to try that one tonight on the PA Match 6.

The play is the same idea, generate one pick by choosing the most frequent followers of the last draw (sorted order) from each column, then use that pick as the seed, which will choose the most frequent followers from the history to appear in the same draws as each se... [ More ]

I might also mention that my current pick 3 history files also have columns of angular data, recording the angle between draws. The code was written to ONLY address columns A, B and C, ignoring DATE, angleA, angleB and angleC.

I departed from the variable columnar approach used in previous programs because these data files feed other scripts. That way I only meed to maintain 1 csv file and 1 spreadsheet per game.

It is not an embedded macro, it is a stand alone Python Script. How are your history files laid out? Saving as a .csv file is easy in Excel.

My pick 3 history files have DATE, then A, B and C for column headers, and the rows have the draw date, the first number, the second number and the third number drawn. The history starts with the oldest draw on top and the most recent at the bottom.

If your history file is not laid out that way, then the code will not work.

Care to paste one in so we can figure out what exactly is going on?

What I do to run a script in python is to open the folder where it is located, right click on the python file and select edit in IDLE

This allows you to use the IDLE environment to run rather than the windows command line.

From the script page, click under RUN or press the F5 key to run the script. ALL of the errors will be in red text, and easy to copy and paste

The only line you need to edit is this one...

If your history file is in excel, make a csv using save as text(csv)

The basic script works! 73 lines of code. (But I still have to expand on the comments). My draw files are stale by about 2 weeks, but I should be able to update them later today.

Once you have python up and running, you can try it out (will post later when I get back to the laptop). It is basic, doing exactly what I have outlined,, but because it is so short, you can easily pop it into an LLM like ChatGPT to add or change functionality.

So I gave myself a goal of working code in 2 days. I will miss half of today sleeping off night shift, so working code in 1.5 days.

Are you familiar with python at all? You can install it for free, and any decent spreadsheet program (from excel to google docs to open office) can generate a .csv file.

I will try to keep it short. Since it was based on your idea, I will post a copy of the code when it is done so you can try it yourself.

Operation will be passing in a csv file and a seed combo, such as (paPick3Eve.csv, 5, 1, 8)

The program then creates the data structure from the csv file.

Pass one will only look at rows where the first digit was a 5, counting and displaying the frequency distribution of the other 2 positions.

Pass two will do the same for the digit 1 in the middle position, returning the frequency distribution of the first and last place.

Pass 3 will follow suit for 8 in the last position.

The data structure becomes interesting for dealing with all columns at once.

A read from csv across each row should capture each drawn combo in an array, these arrays can be stored in a list. That would allow precise targeting of the sets that contain the chosen digit in each position.

Counting can be done by straight variables, which will then be put into it's own list and sorted by frequency for output... such as a 5 chosen in the first position would be picked such that the next posit... [ More ]

So, say I was to go against what I have done for so long and actually looked at the frequency distribution in a pick n game across the drawn combo rather than just isolating each column.

The output would be massive, a distribution list of 0-9 for n-1 positions for each digit in the first position... then repeat the process for n-1, 0-9 for the second position etc...

The cheapest possible way to play would probably require n tickets ( so 4 for a pick4) utilizing the data from the last dra... [ More ]

hello hy per! the trick would be to hit the 1st digit in either pick3 or pick4 if you hit the 1st digit you are in if you miss you are out it's that simple. now tracking jumps in neighboring positions can give an indication of the 1st digit, for example if you know that the 1st digit is 4 you have 99 pick3 to filter later, so the hit of the 1st digit is the reference

That is an interesting concept, but from the trenches of data analysis, the most frequent numbers rarely happen together in the same draw. Seems like it would give out 40 combos on a pick 4, a bit cost prohibitive.

So you are basically looking for the horizontal frequency (the entire draw in all positions) for each number in each position?

That sounds like it would be a nightmare to implement. I have spent probably the last year establishing a codebase to analyze vertical frequency (followers). The frequency distribution ends up being just about as uniform as the starting data.

You would probably have to encode your draw history as a list of lists , for example

[[5, 2, 4 ,7], [9, 0, 8, 7], ...

Now determine what numbers fall in the other two positions for each number that falls in the third
