I've never had much luck with birthdays, but an anniversary got me $400 on Powerball once. I've tried playing my social security number and didn't have much luck with that either.

Sometimes I'll play a few numbers selected using a specific method then throw in something random. On a line I might play 3 numbers I pick myself then 2 randoms or such. No jackpots, but have won a few lower prizes this way.

I've found some methods of picking numbers that match more numbers than quickpicks, but never enough for a jackpot. Even so, I still like to try different ways to match numbers.

Sometimes my brain gives me ideas about a strategy that I can use.

The more I think of the strategy at that point in time, the more I realize that it's just my brain trying to be creative and telling me there is a way to win this.

But when I look back at the past drawing and how much the next drawing has gone up by, I tell myself all those millions of tickets did not get it right.

So then I just stick with one or two QP and go home.

I've tried this method with Louisiana Lotto(6/42) and didn't have much luck. I did match all the numbers, but on different lines. I had to get 3 minimum on a line to win a prize and didn't. I would put all 42 numbers into a random number generator and scramble them on to 7 lines.

The way I normally play that game is I buy one line, sometimes a quickpick, sometimes I use another method to pick the numbers myself. If prize gets above $1million, I buy an extra ticket. If it were to hit $2millio... [ More ]

There is an old program Lottery Cracker World, no longer updated. The website is down for years now, the author decided to make available for free this program but as he says most functions work, some don't, indeed you can get an internal error out of the blue for no apparent reason, again it can work with no problems, no guarantees it has this feature to Cover every ball in the lottery in just a few lines at minimum cost, under Menu Play -- Full Selection, and it has some O/E and L/H filters... For the makeup problem, I cross reference SLAG with Winslips. It has a function that prevents all odd/evens or all high/low. It also prevents unlikely sets using combinatorics. Doesn't guarantee anything, but between the two programs, at least my plays avoid low probability.

My reason for playing all the numbers in a lottery system is that all numbers in a system have an equal chance of being selected. If you play only one line of six numbers and not the other 43 numbers, you are gambling twice. First gamble is that of the 49 numbers only six will be chosen at the draw and the second gamble is that the other 43 will not be chosen. What you're doing looks fine to me, within sum ranges, only thing is all 2/4 4/2 odd/even so 3/3 the most common is ruled out as are the 1/5 5/1 10% chance. Good if the strategy for that draw is 2/4 4/2 expected, otherwise 3/3 for a jackpot is impossible. It's only 8 lines out of millions, so it's still a super long shot. It does take the risk of picking the wrong numbers out of the wheeling problem. Wonder if there is a lottery software that can build sets like this with most aspects taken into... [ More ]

I'm a pretty heavy player...$15 a day...all draw games. 12#/$12 wheel for Cash 5 (Texas) and a line or two for whatever big game is that night. Win a few free quick picks every night for matching 2 numbers, and usually win $15 3-4 times a week for matching 3. Will hit $350 a couple times a year, but have never gotten the $25k jackpot. Have used SLAG now for about 12 years.

I've been playing Lotto Texas the same. 54 numbers on 9 lines. I only play that much on Saturday, and generally buy a single QP for the Wednesday draw, and skip Monday's draw. Guaranteed to have all 6 numbers on 6 lines which increases your chances of one of the lower prizes as well as the jackpot. Still pretty hard to win though.

When I play a lottery game, I include all the numbers in the draw. Example, when playing 6/49 , I select 8 lines of six numbers per line with no repeat of numbers to the successive line. 8 lines x six numbers = 48. All numbers are played except one.

Example : 04 11 23 28 45 47 13 18 25 27 34 48 02 was not included.
