Yea but what's the actual sales in the extras? I buy the x bonus for a dollar. I for one ever buy a megaplyer or what ever they call it. Because the odds are the same as the regular game. But jackpot is significantly lower. Mabye Im wrong though. I wish there was a breakdown. Of the extras for each draw. Like we sold xAmount of the x. Then x amount of the second draw game. And if pb wanted to raise there price to 5 a ticket. They could just add the 2 draws and the x bonus for 5 bucks. And people... [ More ]

$4 more on $6 is 67% more. That is a lot.

In addition, the PB tickets gets three chances to win the jackpot, instead of just two chances for MM. It makes little practical difference because the probability of winning is remote, but that clearly doesn't matter because people buy tickets.

Remember if one played PB without the other accessories, power play and double Play - the 3 draws equal $6 against MM 2 draws at $10 a week. That's a whooping $4 difference.

However if you consider the extra $ on the PB accessories, then there is an argument for PB to take the lead.

I also believe the other set back would be if PB jackpot is won in the next few draws.

If it resets again to 20M before MM is won, the margin would be too big for PB to cover.

In the 2 weeks leading up to tonight's drawing MM has reported sales of about $92 million. Depending on sales for Saturday, PB should be $39 or $40 million for one week, while advertising a smaller jackpot. That suggest that MM will stay out front for a while, but when PB sales go up with an increased jackpot maybe the extra drawing will let it pass MM, but probably not until sometime in June or even farther down the road.

PB 3 draws a week.

MM 2 draws a week.

PB will prolly catch and pass MM at some point if no winners in either game.

I suppose it will depends on the odds for each game. Mega Millions is announcing winner of the reformatted game to draw attention to the $5.00 per play.

Powerball was the big enchilada, but only time will tell if PB will be bigger than Mega Millions.
