I know the dictionary definition of gambling but I don't see buying a lottery ticket as a risk, more like entertainment and a wish to win. Buying in st a casino or race track or sports book for a few yards is taking a risk.

That's not how lottery tickets work, where you pay $5 and in exchange for that they pay you $163 million every time.

If I buy a ticket, I haven't won yet. At that point the prize is worth just a few pennies. Most of the ticket price goes to the jackpot winner (which is almost guaranteed to be someone else) and profit.

I talked to Confucius and he says that a person who expects to have a chance to win thinks that a $5 entry fee is worth it. But a person who thinks that winning is as likely as getting struck by lightning three times will rather spend $2 on the other big lotto, and use the remaining $3 (x number of times played) for life expenses.

Because most of us aren't rich... yet, and likely ever. I can dream just fine with a $2 powerball ticket.

It is measly given the odds of winning and the fact that it's a 30 year annuity. It's worth 1.5 cents.

A prize worth 1.5 cents would be fine if the tickets were 5 cents per line. They are not 5 cents. They're five dollars . What a joke.

With the $5 price tag on the Measly and the PB going multinational...what the geniuses should do is bring the dollar game back with the old odds from Mega Millions maybe even add 1 number to the Mega Ball, draws on Thursday Sunday and let it roll.....That will tell them what the players really want.
