Re: The numbers, policy, etc....... In the NY/NJ areas the race tracks weere rotated to avoiud 'coillusion' but speaking pf collusion, the folks who booked that action snt people to the track being used to place last minute bets to 'asurs' that certain numbers didn't hit. The number was the last three dollar digits of the total mutual handle and numbers to be avoided were numbers like 776 on July 4th.

Yes, and Blackapple. Then they started. What was call, Egg, Butter, and Race. The number came out in the Wall Street Journal. The race came out at 11.30, Egg and Butter came out at 12. Number was listed under the Dow Jones stock market. On the weekend. Don't know. Where it came from.

According to a New York Tribune article he found, freed Black slaves and some white missionaries organized a Decoration Day commemoration that occurred on May 1, 1865, in Charleston, South Carolina.
