Md scratchers are horrible to. I switched from scratchers to pick 4 and 5. And won 2800.00 bucks. Tax free. My state has since started doing computer draws. I stopped buying once they switched. I just play powerball and Mega millions now. I pick the same numbers and play then all week. If the jackpot gets super high. I'll buy a couple extra tickets. But for the most part I spend 19 bucks a week on tickets.

I got hooked when they brought Keno to my state. Things only escalated from there. Now I've got a system for just about every game out there.

Same happened to me. But, saw a co-worker win on Pick 4 and of course the 'line' of players wanting to play didnt help either. Back in the 90's the terminals were only available in a few places so forced everyone to go to the closest one. HOOKED

I used to play pick 4 @ 5. Scratchers. Powerball @Mega Millions. Now it's just 1 ticket of Powerball and Mega Millions. Cost me 19 bucks a week. I rarely buy extra Powerball or Mega Millions. Unless it's high. Like now. I bought an extra 20 bucks worth for tonight.

I don't remember the exact date or the number played, but I do remember the first time I won on a Pick3 drawing, 50 years ago as a relatively innocent 18yr old. The feeling of walking out of Danny's News Stand with $500 after wagering a dollar was pure bliss. At the time, $500 was more than I made in a month, so for the moment, I was suddenly wealthy. The hook, as they say, was set.

I actually do not play the lottery in the state where I live because they use a random number generator. if they start doing ball drawings, then I will play. About once a year, I visit my parents in a state that does ball drawings, and I will play the 3-ball, 4-ball, and Quinto-style 5-ball there.

I joined a pool and I only play the games the pool plays. The pool only plays games with big jackpots like Powerball and Mega Millions.

Winning with the pool is about the same as winning a state game on you own except with much better odds.

In Missouri, the pay is $600.00 for $1.00 straight.

And, for pick 4, front three = $600.00.

I mostly play Lucky for Life - the beauty is that if you match two numbers you win a prize and it's more than the cost of the ticket.

Second most played is Powerball. When it gets to 50 M after taxes am in.

Once in a while I throw a dollar at the 2by2 - the jackpot is always 22K.

Bottom line, I spend what I can afford to give away.

My first choice is Powerball, but only when the jackpot is truly outrageous - 500-750 Mil cash value or more. The way it is moving up now it is just about time to jump in for the big one - only a few more draws to go before it hits my target I think.

My second choice is the Rolling Cash 5 5/39 game in Ohio. I do it the same way as Powerball - I save the cost of a ticket each draw in 100K jackpot increments and jump in when the jackpot is 350-400K or more. I just started doing that for this g... [ More ]

We only have jackpot games, Tattslotto 6/45, Oz Lotto 7/47 and Powerball (7/35 + 1/20). There's no pick 3 anywhere in Australia except WA so that rules it out for most of us. I don't even bother to include Set For Life as it is too expensive and tickets are for 7 draws instead of just one.
