there's a bakery open late on 8 th street, open until 10 :00 pm i believe. but if she makes them from scratch, she uses the recipe on page 78 of her grandmother's cookbook from 1969 .

martha comes on the 5th with a plate of 16 brownies. sometimes they have walnuts, sometimes they have pecans, and sometimes they are nut-free. that part is random.
