MM went up $25M and PB$ 13.7M yet MM is the one that gets criticized for smaller increases.

MM is offering a bit more than twice as much money, not counting the larger non-jackpot prizes. M is also putting about twice as much money toward the jackpot for each ticket thanks to the $5 price.

Powerball has a lot more regular players who are not addicts.

A $5 ticket for a $1 worth of jackpot plus lower prizes is not a good deal. People don't play this this game for the lower prizes; they play it for the jackpot.

Enough of the badgering. Why all the constant harping on people making economic decisions? If people don't want to throw away their money on bad bets, they're not going to.

When PB gets to $600 million, a $5 bet will get them two chances to win the jackpot, one chance to win $1 million, and one chance to win $2 million (except in California). That is a better value, and the ticket sales reflect that.
