While being physically harmed due to a large lottery win likely isn't a huge threat, I don't know what a more dangerous threat could be.

If you don't devote resources to reducing risk your chances of being harmed because you're rich add to the risks you had before you were rich, but mostly it's a small additional risk. What you apparently can't figure out is either what you said or how becoming rich affects the various chances of physical harm.

The Dee Dee Moore and Abraham Shakespeare friendship, was bizarre. I get that Abraham was concerned when he realized a huge chunk of his lottery winnings was gone, but why trust some random woman claiming that she'll help, you hold on to your dwindling lottery winnings? Why not put the dwindling lottery winnings into a trust that can't be withdrawn from for a set amount of years?

I've been thinking a bit (a sometimes dangerous thing for me to do) about what I wrote above.

To me, it all boils down to this - While being physically harmed due to a large lottery win likely isn't a huge threat, I don't know what a more dangerous threat could be. There has been some not so good news in The Guthrie kidnapping case. This isn't new news but it doesn't bode well for The Guthrie Family.

The glove found by the highway has 'touch' DNA on it. If the glove wasn't handled properly by the lab looking for DNA, that particular type of DNA would be gone forever. News reports are saying the lab got male DNA off the glove, so that's good news.

I was never very good at self awareness. Wish I was but it was never my strong suit.

One thing I think happened to me is that I mellowed a bit as I got older. But it wasn't because I consciously tried to become mellow. Must've been the aging process.

In addition to how flashy one chooses to live is one part of the equation. I think egotism also factors into the equation.

I have a nephew that is a business partner of a guy that has multiple business ventures. Some of them were very successful. That man met someone who had a business that did far better than any of his businesses.

Henry walked around with his head hung down to his shoes after meeting the guy that had that business that did better than any of his.

Really sick and unfunny behavior that should probably be reported. I took a screenshot of it. The change in behavior of this member is very concerning. He pretends he is responding to me but it was totally unrelated to my post.

JustMaybe, One of the best jackpot winner stories is about a young married guy in the Navy. His wife asked him to get out of the Navy and they actually had some kind of program that let him out. Later on he was interviewed and asked if he was going to buy a high end car. He said he had looked at a few and thought, I could buy that if I wanted to but I don't want to.

I am glad that the state where I live allows for winners to claim anonymously.

Having said that, I must add that how flashy one chooses to live after the win does increase the likelihood of opportunist bringing harm on them.

Being able to fly under the radar with millions in the bank account is a delicate balance.

If I had 250 million in the bank after taxes, it would take a lot of will power and energy to act/live normal.

I should probably clarify something I wrote in the above post.

It's true that AI is not new. Back in the 1990's (when smartphones didn't exist) AI was executing on mainframes that were in large data centers.

Now days, that mainframe is in the pocket of your jeans.

In the 90's, AI was being used by large corporations for their business purposes. Now consumers are using it for both constructive and nefarious purposes. G5

That statement is a tell . The kidnapper spent 41 minutes in the house! Kidnapping is a grab and go crime except in this case it wasn't. This crime was pre-planned and executed according to that plan.

I saw and heard one forensic analyst say (and it was probably a week ago that I saw it) Due to the victims medical history, the situation is grim. That says a lot.

You would be surprised at the number of people, even well educated, who do not understand basic tech with security cams. I have had neighbors think my nestcams were fake. I do think she was targeted for having a famous daughter. I think it was likely someone who did work for the family like a landscaper. They copied a key and went in the back door. Exactly so, all you have to be is attractive to the kidnapper who has a cinder block prison cell built in his basement.

What bothers me, they have all that money to pay ransom, yet couldn't or wouldn't pay the ring doorbell subscription or cover a Life Alert. Could be a case of one of the kids grabbing grandma's check book and shutting down all those lifetime charity subscriptions and Ring went with them.

Sounds like a stupid story to incite fear.

If I were head of the lotto commission, id probably make up stories like this to dissuade the mass population to not play the game. Thereby, decreasing payouts.

1. If everyone in a state played their house address for 1 week there'd probably be over 500k winners.

Besides anyone can get kidnapped with or without a ransom.

You should consider a visit to reality, or at least find a more realistic definition of threat . Like so many people in The USA, I've been closely following the national news kidnapping story coming out of Arizona. I saw one particular former detective being interviewed about the Ring Doorbell video that's been shown so many times.

The Detective said Most criminals think they are smarter than anybody else, but this guy might be a little different in that he actually is smart. While he probably is smart, he's not smarter than The FBI criminalist's trying to catch him.
