The two timestamps are the part I would focus on. The printed time is probably when the retailer terminal produced the ticket, while the EZ Match time may be tied to when that add-on result was registered or displayed by the system. The repeated $4 amounts are separate from that. That could be the actual EZ Match prize tier on that ticket, or it could be a display issue if you are looking at an image instead of the physical ticket.

I would ask Michigan Lottery directly on this one. They can

Based on the article it seems that the person who won, won in May 2025 and was waiting nearly a year to cash it in. I don't know what the time limit is on cashing in those winning tickets but having a winning ticket collecting dust for 1 year or being squished in your wallet for a long period of time will probably wear it down....

Additionally you are even more correct...this winning ticket makes EZ match look like even more of a scam

After the DC fiasco I would never play an RNG lottery game.

Yes, I knew it was 14:30 when I posted (you ruined my fun right away on that one).

However I don't know how all those EZ Match prizes are the same though.

Some parts of the ticket are smudged, and I think the 1 in front of 4:30 on the bottom got smudged away completely.

2:30 PM is 14:30 in 24 hour format, and the bottom time does not have AM/PM after it like the top.

Why all the EZ match prizes are $4 I don't know. I analyzed an EZ match game one time and concluded it was a silly game.

As I do every morning I read the news on the Michigan website.

Today they have a picture of a winning Fantasy 5 ticket.

At the top of the ticket it says it was printed at 2:30:06

and underneath the EZ match section it says 4:30:06

Also all the EZ Match prizes are $4!

The Michigan Fantasy 5 is an RNG game.

Can anyone explain what happened here?
