A 1.6-star rating on the app... It sounds like it wasn t exactly a great app even before the recent update.

I wonder why the lottery doesn t hold the developers of their app to a higher standard. Between the app and the physical stores, they re handling billions of dollars in sales. You d think it would be worth the investment to provide customers with a user-friendly, reliable app.

The app was meant to serve a purpose, show the results. They added the scanning later. Now it is just a glorified advertisement for all of their garbage games that they want you to play online. The results are not even a top level click anymore. When it comes to online accounts, it used to be opt-in. I can get what I was after faster now on the website, so there is no reason to not just ditch the app. The changes were for their benefit, not users. Several years ago Washington Lottery did a complete redesign and update on their app. People complained about having to create an account just to scan a ticket, so they changed it and removed the requirement. I do have an account with them, but that's just so I can occasionally get a free gift card.

I do have an Oregon Lottery account as well and it's required to scan tickets. Neither account has my name or physical address, just my e-mail.

The only thing I ever wanted to do on it is check results. I can use the website for that. Next time anyone who has it tries to open it, be prepared for a forced upgrade... they want to check your location and continue to try and make you create an account just to check a ticket. Since it no longer does what i want it to, that will be an uninstall... pathetic. At least they did not break the old database hooks...
