A store owner in Greenwich, CT, put up a sign urging NY Gov Pataki to allow Powerball in NY. I'm guessing the MUSL members would welcome the large population of NY into Powerball. NJ has no veto power over NY joining Powerball since NJ has the Big Game. The only hurdle I see preventing NY joining Powerball is a lawsuit, most likely from someone (within NY) morally opposed to an expansion of the NY Lottery. If all goes well, expect NY to sell Powerball tickets bt spring 2002.

From what I read, the states next to New York that had Powerball didn't want the business from New York. So I'm guessing they will be glad if NewYorkers have their own ticket outlets for Powerball.RJOh

It'll never happen because both lotteries are major jackpotentities...Powerball couldn't handle the traffic and New York sits right next door to a Powerball state(Connecticut)and a Big Game State(New Jersey).
