I was wrong. Since there are 2,118,760 combinations of 5 in 50 numbers, if JAP69 played all 36 bonus with the same combination of five, his chances of matching winning combination would be 1:2,118,760. Where I got confused was looking at the chart with the 36 bonus numbers on it. It calculates that 1 correct combination of 5 with the correct bonus number will win, while the other 35 correct combinations of 5 with the other bonus numbers will not win, making the odds of have 5 of 5 with wrong bon... [ More ]

While it is true if you played the same combination of five with each of the 36 bonus ball you would reduce your odds of winning the jackpot to 1:2,179,296, you would reduce your odds to 1:2,118,760 if you play a different combination with each of those 36 bonus ball. Something to think about. Good luck to you.RJOh

By buying each of the 36 possible Big Money Ball numbers, you'd effectively be removing the BMB from the odds calculation. Therefore, your odds of winning the jackpot would be 1 in 2,179,296. This assumes that the first 5 numbers are the same for each of the 36 tickets you buy. -Todd

You'd be playing $36 of tickets, since there are 36 gold balls. Your odds of winning the jackpot would be the lower figure you quoted. Right, Todd
