BLOPE: The Mega Millions jackpot WOULD HAVE BEEN 18 million Tuesday (most recent drawing) if the Friday 5/24 draw was not won. Give it time. The NY Lotto 6/59 game returns ONLY 40% in prizes, so, despite the current jackpot, it will eventually suffer big time.

Mega Millions is failing miserably. The fact that the jackpot goes up only 2 million reflects the extremely poor sales. If this game is to survive, which many doubt, majoroverhauls will have to be done. Although as yet unconfirmed,it appears that New York had a lot to do with the extreme changes in the odds and overall re-structure of the Big Gameto Mega Millions. This info was obtained from a number of lottery vendors in NY.

RJOh: It won't take much for Ohio 6/49 players to realize that Mega Millions is more interesting. Even though I believe the Ohio 6/49 game was changed only last year, it needs another overhaul very soon.

I played MagaMillions last night for $10 and won $2 for a gold ball match and I will play SuperLoto tonight because I like the better odds of winning the jackpot. As long as the MagaMillion jackpot is under $60M and the SuperLotoPlus jackpot is over $8M, they both are going to sell equally well. Maybe later when losing players comprehend the benefits of the 1:41 payouts of MM compared with the 1:450 payouts of SLP, MagaMillions will be a more popular game.RJOh

Abe: They've done it for years. Ohio 6/49 sales actually were dropping BEFORE Mega Millions came to the Buckeye State. Players probably picked up the difference in percentages of the cash values while waiting for MM to begin.

Still, it's easier to win Ohio Lotto's jackpot as it stands. And thus had I been in Ohio I'd rather play Ohio Lotto right now, even if I get a few hundred thousand less after winning.Though the fact that it's so obvious in Ohio, and that no one in the commission is doing anything about it, is really screwed up.
