And you have to figure out the populations of cities that are near the borders of MM and Powerball states to get the true number of potential 'Big Jackpot' lotto players. Ahhh.....don't bother. That's impossible. And you have to realize you can only count adults that are willing to drive out of their way to play the lotteries when the lotteries hit $200,000,000+. There are many many people who frown on the lotteries and wouldn't even play a dollar on a $1,000,000,000 jackpot if it took 20 second... [ More ]

Although Powerball (MUSL) has 24 lotteries once SC joins, it is made up of mostly small states. So your numbers do not surprise me.

All MM states (including WA state)will have the total of population: approx 94 million people while the PB states (inculding SC) will have the total of population: approx 80 million. I wonder, the MM will grow bigger and faster than PB's? Is it possible. I just visited this census website and I jotted down the numbers of population from the MM states and the PB states and I counted them all. Seems that the MM states will have more people than the PB ones will.
