I've tried a few of the suggestions and some variations myself. The URL I put in changes from 'http://members.aol.com/jadelottery/JADEICON.GIF' to 'http://members.aol.com/jadelottery/JADEICon.' after I update and save my profile.Here's the actual image: If this works.

George,There are no problems with outside Avatars. The problem is most likely on your server's end. Also, there is no problem with .gif files -- my Avatar is a GIF! With a GIF you can use an invisible color for the background so you don't have to try matching the forum background color.Anyway, your Avatar is showing just fine right now.

Todd,As you can see I have my custom avatar up and running. The problem was the format which seems to work best as a jpeg image.Couldn't get the gif or ico version to work so I converted the format to jpeg (which is what you use) and filled in the background with your forum color. George,I can get to your homepage now (which is looking good!), but the avatar issue is most likely not related. You can provide up to 100 characters in the avatar URL, so it shouldn't be giving you trouble.

George,I use my own URL for my Avatar, so I know it works OK. You just need to load the correct URL in the space in your profile. The best way is to right-click on the picture on your web site, select Properties, and copy the URL for the picture to the clipboard. Then, just paste the URL into your profile.

Todd,How do you suggest, rather what process should one use to use their own avatar for their member name?I have created a 32x32 ico file and uploaded it to my website as well as my yahoo briefcase. Both urls are showing as broken.Any Suggestions?...../George
