Thanks for the numbers, RJ. I'm guessing that a reason why the odds are better is because we have a new state playing(SC)... more winners now. Who knows, really. Ain't them lottery people sumthin' else? Yeah they really like to point out all the good things about their games. Like with PB they LOVE to boast about the PowerPlay option saying oh it's only 1 extra dollar . Yeah, if you only play ONE LINE. But it's a business just like any other, so, can't blame them for trying to make more money.... [ More ]

To MrcoolsoulUnder the old system the odds of winning 0/5+B were 1:73 and with changes the odds of winning 0/5+B are 1:70. The new odds are 1,712,304/120,526,770 and the old odds were 1,086,008/80,089,128. While there are more chances to win, there are also more chances to lose. Lottery spokemen alway try to put a postive spin on that fact.RJOh

I don't understand how the odds of winning with just the red Powerball have gotten better. It seems to me that if they were to eliminate a ball or two then it would make the odds better. The Match 5 bonus thing sounds cool.
