How did we miss that one? Well, here is the equations for figuring out in general the probability of success:Let n! = n * (n-1) * (n-2) * ... * 1 ; where 1!=1 and 0! =1Let C( n , r ) = n! / ((n - r)! * r!) ; where 'n' is a quantity of numbers taken 'r' at a timeLet x = C( N , a ) and y = C( Q - N , R - a ) and z = C( Q , R ) ; where 'N' is the quantity of numbers in a system (i.e. 14 for the previous example) and 'Q' is the quantity of numbers in the lottery's pool of numbers (i.e. 49) and 'R' i... [ More ]

Here's somthing else for thought,Let's suppose there is a lottery that has a drum that hase 49 balls with no numbers painted on the surface of the balls and 6 of the 49 balls are drawn from those 49. How could you tell what balls are the prime numbers and what are not? I mean, even if you could keep track of the balls as they were being ramdomly mixed and then be able to tell exactly what balls were being drawn. How could you tell what ball is what? I suppose if there were some super computer vi... [ More ]

I've found that on average:for 1000 draws of 6 out of 49 for my own lottery.for 1500 random sets of 14 out of 49 the is about on average:0 of 14 for 14 of 49 115.73 matched numbers1 of 14 for 14 of 49 324.56 matched numbers2 of 14 for 14 of 49 341.29 matched numbers3 of 14 for 14 of 49 170.40 matched numbers4 of 14 for 14 of 49  42.73 matched numbers5 of 14 for 14 of 49    5.06 matched numbers6 of 14 for 14 of 49    0.22 matched numbersIn terms of percentages that equates to:0 of 14 for 14 of 49... [ More ]

P.S.what would theory suggest about the out come of any analysis.Well, by theory, the equation would be:Let n!=n * (n-1) * (n-2) * ... *1where 1!=1 and 0! =1Let C(n,r)= n! / ((n - r)! * r!)Then let P = 100 * (C(14,a) * C(49 - a, 6 - a)/ C(49,6))where 'a' is the matched numbers in the set of 14.Then the probabiltity of success for 14 out 49 is as follows:0 of 14 for 14 out of 49 is about 100*(C(14,0)*C(49-14,6-0)/C(49,6)) or about 11.60742%1 of 14 for 14 out of 49 is about 100*(C(14,1)*C(49-14,6... [ More ]

Len Groundry,You pose an interesting theory about prime numbers. But let's say that any set of 14 numbers out of 49 is the key to winning the lottery. How would that sack up against your prime numbers theory or any theory. Let's say the fisrt 7 odd and the last 7 even, or the first 7 even and the last 7 odd, or the 7 low and the 7 high, or the 7 infrequent and the 7 most frequent, or any 14 of 49 random combination.I'll examine the 14 of 49 random combination. Seems simple, because any random co... [ More ]

Your observations are interesting, but have you check that same file using numbers 1-14? I checked those prime numbers with the Ohio649P files and the prime numbers matched 6=0,5=1,4=11,3=52 and checked the numbers 1-14 and matched 6=0,5=3,4=12,3=39. The numbers 1-14 actually would have produced more winning combinations than the prime numbers. I concluded that the fourteen prime numbers in the Ohio lottery are no better than any other fourteen numbers. Your UK's lotteries may have bias that... [ More ]
