They even try this scam at convenience stores here after midnight when the machines are shut down.A co-worker at another store I used to work for fell for it once. I just tell them to bring the cards back at 6am and I'll be happy to cash them then.Heck, I don't even cash the winners I sell unless I know them very well and they scratch them in front of me. Even then I cash them from my pocket and not the register...../George

Here in New York, there is a different kind of scratchcard scam - directly from the NY Lottery! All current NY scratch games with top prizes over $500,000 are paid in ANNUITY only. There is even a scratch game that has free Lotto tickets as prizes, except they all say 26 ANNUAL PAYMENTS (again, NO cash option
