smd: WINFALL has a 55% prize return, above average for a lotto game. Maybe WINFALL should have been capped at $3 million-they would still have paid out from the former game's jackpot pool Wednesday, if not also into tomorrow.

RJOh,The prizes when there is a WINFALL are pari-mutuel and based on the number of winners and tickets sold. Even if 3 out of 6 had to pay $20 and they kept it at a WINFALL until someone hit, it would still be better than resetting it to $2 Million.The lottery still makes it's 45-50% on the tickets regardless. They would not lose money. So there is no reason for them to reset it.

WinFall is just getting back to reality. How long did you really think a lottery could pay ~$50 on a bet with odds of 1:53 and make money? The extra money from the old game is gone and now the new game has to stand on its own. I hope it is succesful, because it will change the concept of the state lottery games from having big jackpots to attract players to having better payouts at the lower prize level to attract players and leave the big jackpots to the multistate games.RJOh

The $2 million starting jackpot is to encourage people to buy tickets at all jackpot levels (much like the $10 million guarantee for Mega Millions/Powerball.) Once the sales catch up to the guaranteed jackpot, you'll see much bigger rollovers. Too soon to mess with the game. The winter weather also might be holding down sales.

My guess is that MI players have lost confidence in the game. They saw the Jackpot at $5 Million and paying out $43 for 3 out of 6. No one hits, and the next week it is back down to $2 Million with 3 out of 6 paying only $5. This stupid reset rule has turned players off to the game. Now it will take forever for it to grow back up to $5 Million again.MI should have left the Jackpot amount at $5 Million with WINFALLs until the Jackpot was hit.

I know what is wrong...how can a jackpot game only increase $100,000 for the past two drawings. That is like they only are selling what $40,000 worth of tickets plus the money that is paid out. What is wrong?Brad

smd: Perhaps the spillover from MI Millions spoiled players. (The low Mega Millions pots aren't helping.) Change Play will be gone long before WINFALL. So maybe PA should try Hot Lotto instead

No winner again tonight and it only goes from $2.1 Million to $2.2 Million for Saturday? That is not good news.Michigan has taken a great concept and basically managed to ruin it after 10 drawings?First of all, no one has won the Jackpot prize of WINFALL. And once it reset to $2 Million people seem to have stopped playing it.It's ashame.
