I'll bet TX will be getting complaints from players because they'll have losing tickets that match the powerball (you'll need at least one of the first five PLUS the bonus ball, or 3/5 without).

Rebeckah:Adding either PB or MM would not wound the TLC (in fact it would increase TX Lottery sales), but it would hurt Lotto TX.

Well, if the TLC {Texas Lottery Commision) IS trying to kill the lottery, they're doing a REAAAAAAALY good job at it. At least they're talking again about doing either powerball or Megamillions. Adding one of those would most definately wound the TLC. I'd play powerball over their new lotto game just cuz the jackpots are bigger the database would be bigger. Plus more people discuss those games than Texas games.

Orange:At least Lotto TX will return 52% to players. The NY Lotto 59 here pays back only 40%.

I have looked up some things and the results aren't pretty. The total odds for Texas Lotto after May 4th is 1 in 57. Powerball is only 1 in 36. That is because Texas gives the player NOTHING for selecting the powerball correctly. One plus the powerball only pays $3. Powerball, on the other hand, pays $4.The idiots in Austin are likely to kill the lottery.

Rebekah:That's why my handle is CASH Only .TX has the only lottery that uses the initials CVO , much like the TxDOT uses IH-45 instead of I-45 for the Dallas-to-Houston road.

yep, I just checked a ticket it says your jackpot choice is binding. Not chosing gives you the annuity. I always choose CVO anyway.

Do you visit the Lotto Report page, written by Dawn Nettles? She keeps everybody updated on the happenings. Even has a form to fill out to send to our legislators. Rebeckah,There are lots of Texas players here, but not a lot of postings by any State in the jackpot sections. The pick 3 4 sections are more active. Not too many people like to post and come up losers all the time. Odds of posting a winning number (box or straight) is better in those sections and the pick 3 4 games don't change, what worked ten years ago, will work today.Sounds like the 5/44 1/44 format will do the job - make the game hard to win and increase the jackpot. The most interesting thing about the new version of LOTTO TEXAS is that while it will be played like Powerball/Mega Millions/California SuperLotto Plus, you will LOSE by matching _only_ the mega number or whatever term the TX Lottery will use. Yet, PB and the CA game, each with fewer numbers in the lower field, let you win with ONLY that number.TX also needs to adopt the 60-day rule-you'll still have to make the cash/annuity choice WHEN you play, instead of after you win.

Hi Rebecka,I think it's time you Texans learn who's in charge of Texas...Those people who create and make those stupid decisions or the people who elect them and put them in office.I am fed up to my nostrils with stupid,unexplained,no reason for,down right idiotic legislation by lottery officials who's jobs are not elected positions.I guess Texas is not above the same negative political restraints as the rest of the country. lottoscorp
