Well, keeping age resctrictions isn't fair either. It's not good for you to think people of certain age should'nt do things just because you could'nt do them at that time in you life. If that was the case, the voting age would never have been lowered. Women and minorities would still be oppressed. And that's not good. It's time for the gov't to change their Hitler-like regulations on youth.

But the lottery should'nt be considered an adlut privelege. It's not like a casino where hard liquor is flowing like Niagara Falls (and that is unhealthy, for anybody, but that's another subject entirely). It's a cheap and harmless game.

I said in some cases not all, I know Adults are at a higher percentage of misconduct because we have more FREEDOMS as Adults.But 18 and up is the legal age for Adult activities and that's the way it should be because those same teenagers will contribute to those figures from that website in the future as Adults.

But teenagers can be reckless and irresponsible just like Adults but in some cases they are worse.So society has placed limits on what they can do based on age requirements 18 to smoke and vote and join the military and 21 to drink.Those are the rules and have been for quite some time now,when I was 17 I didn't have a problem with those rules they were put in place for a reason.They don't infringe upon there rights because teenagers have to answer to their Adult Guardians who put more rules and... There has to be a social difference between youth and adulthood. 18 being the age that one should graduate from high school it is assumed that they have enough education to make adult decisions like voting, entering the military etc. Just because we're supposed to be a free society doesn't mean you should be given certain freedoms till you're capable of handling them.Well, if certain people don't have certain freedoms, it's not a free society, period.

Well, my point is that no one should be denied purchase of something that wont harm their health, no matter what age. Saying 17-year olds should'nt buy lottery tickets because they'll become addicted is like saying Arabs can't by sharp objects because they might hijack a plane. Well, I think there should'nt be an age restriction on Lotteries at all. There is just no justification for it. Lotto won't harm anybody, it's inexpensive, and it's fun for all ages. Hopefully you all come to your senses and realize that teenagers aren't what you think they are right now. But if there is an minimum age, it should be 13. I guess it's the laws of the individual country or the state. They say an age of 17 here in the US might be too young , too immature to play lottery. If they're going to put a minimum age to play, why not put a maximum age. After all, people go senile at a certain age.My suggestion: Lottery for ages 16 - 65

I see that while it's 21 to buy Louisiana Lottery tickets, you need to be just 18 to bet on the horses. The OPPOSITE is true in Texas; 18 for lottery, 21 for horse/dog wagering.

An 18-year-old living in the San Francisco Bay Area can buy tickets in their home state. However, if s/he were to take a cross-country drive on Interstate 80, assuming the trip did not involve other states, s/he would NOT be able to play the lottery again until s/he cross the Mississippi River (NV-UT-WY, no lottery; NE, minimum age 19; IA, minimum 21.Illinois allows 18-year-olds to buy tickets. S/he would not be able to play PB until reaching Indiana.

I joined the Military at 18 back in '85 at the time the drinking age hadn't been raised to 21 until about a year later I believe,anyway 18 should be the standard age for buying Lottery tickets since it's the standard age for everything else.
