To Greg,When you check the last draw with the history of PowerBall drawing, it hadn't not matched any of the previous 73 drawings by more than two numbers. The newer format 5/53+1/42 started on 10/09/02. The last draw 15 19 27 36 44 +17 matched 2 of the 11/23/02 - 15 16 19 21 49 +05. That's what I mean when I say match 2 and etc.RJOhP.S. You can check PowerBall at www.Powerball.com

Hello DonnaH,If you plan to play 42 combinations you might be able to cover all the numbers. If you compare the last 74 drawings (since the powerball changed), you will notice that the combinations seldom match 3's and match 2's two to six times. If you filter out those combinations that have matched three, you may have a better chance of matching more than the powerball.RJOh

DonnaH: I find it very helpful in choosing my white balls and my red ball by setting up a chart using Excel. Down the right side of your sheet, number your game. I use Mega Millions so the numbers would be 1-52. Accross the top, list the dates of each drawing. Make your grid to be about 1/4 inch squares accross and down. Each game, color in the white balls that hit in black Color in the Power Number in red Mark each game up and down on your chart. It takes at least 10 games to see the pat... [ More ]
