Lottery computer networks which process orders from lottery ticket machines, like any technology, can crash. With the HUGE number of people who will be buying tickets, it is possible that the lottery network could crash under the stress. It is unlikely, but possible.

I read that people should buy powerball tickets early when the jackpot gets high. Are only a given amount of tickets sold at that time? Just wondering as I'm usually a last day purchaser. Thanks.
