Pick-4: I agree-the FLORIDA Lottery is much better than the Mass. and NY lotteries because Florida _does_not_ force any of its winners AFAIK into annuity payments.

No it's because we live in America where you have FREEDOM of CHOICE and they CHOSE ANNUITY and CHOSE WISELY in my opinion.When I WIN I'm choosing ANNUITY and I'll post it here for everyone.When someone choosesAnnuity it doesn't mean they made a bad decision we don't know what the circumstances are for there choosing Annuity.Anyone can argue there point for a CASH option and do the same for an ANNUITY option it all boils down to the preference or circumstances for what a WINNER decides to take.So... Vdude:AFAIK they haven't claimed. Why on earth would a couple take the 30-payment annuity when they got to choose AFTER they won, and that FL has _no_ state income tax
