Some people play the same combinations (such as birthdays or anniversaries) or some people play quick picks.  But I looked at the powerball website a while back before they revamped it, and the Frequently Asked Questions section said that the MUSL does everything they can to make sure that the game is random.  They even take out the balls and weigh them to make sure that they weigh the same. Problem is a combination of computing power and lotto draw results getting  jammed  somehow. There is a workaround for this, but I  need a supercomputer for that.
