Mentioned this on another line. Anyone play the new $2 Pa. Lucky Birthday. Look closely. That's way different for a scratch game. Better odds for $2 (less than 1 in 4--newer games keep getting higher) and a top prize of $100. Low for a $1 game, but lots of prizes--a pay out rate (not published- I sat down and calculated it) of 65%. REmember for most draw games, only about 35% is paid out. (OK Daily numbers are about 50-50. 50% goes to the State (Elderly) programs. the rest (too high of a... [ More ]

I amend what I said. Scratch off's have better odds at smaller prizes, but there's a point where the higher end amount on a scratch ticket has worse odds than a draw ticket. Although that's not only the case. (e.g.-Pa's Win for Life scratch vs. Powerball

Generally Scratch Odds are posted, and yes, they are better than even the best on-line games overall, usually in general. Worst is 1 in 5, but best is 1 in 1; like apparently in Ohio, our $20 Christmas ticket guarantees at least $5 on every ticket. What isn't always known is the Payout, I sat down and figured it out and could be as well as 60%.Actually better than the average slot machine. Here in Pa. we have our cash 5 which is 1 in 8 of getting your dollar back.

Instant tickets are just that, instant chances at winning some money. That's why they are so popular. A lot of people don't like to wait around a couple hours for a drawing to take place. With these little cards you bought you can see just by scratching them if you won big, won small, or lost. In Michigan they dont post odds of winning but you can still easily obtain them by emailing or writing to them. Lets take for instance this $20 game they had not to long ago.$20 prize - - 1 in 5.71$25... [ More ]

if you bought a roll of tickets say 100 tickets and the odds were 1 in 9 you would be lucky if you got your money back then again you might hit the top tier prize. They might print a million tickets with a fraction of that being paid out. I think that you have a better chance at high traffic lottery stores places that sell more tickets say than the local tavern or restaurant
