I think it is almost a lock that PA will get both slots and Keno in 2004. Especially now that the budget has been passed.I don't know that I would play the slots much, since I've always enjoyed table games more. I would probably try Keno from time to time like I do with Horse Racing. When I have a Saturday afternoon to waste and a couple of extra bucks in my pocket...

Did you ever see anyone Quick pick a daily pick three ? When I'm in a rush and I have 50 extra cents in my pocket I often QP the Daily Number (usually boxed). I haven't ever hit it doing that, but I have had 2 out of 3...

didn't know DC will get it. I understand they have (what i like to call) bar Keno like in Md. and W.Va. Maybe the Pa. Lottery can run that. My Capitol Hill insider buddy says that may be coming. Good game, except states set payoffs for high profit, but could make it more player friendly if they choose. They don't. Computer Keno games for fun pay off better. Agree, that's why Super 6 was invented with astronomical odds. Then Powerball was changed to bigger odds, but better odds of smaller prizes. Actually still OK. If you live in Pa. You know that the lottery never gets it right the first time. And if they do, the game gets scrapped. Again, would prefer hot lotto over powerball. High end should be enough for me. I remember the Lotzee game . 4/100. $2 per ticket. Good odds of minimum prize of $3. Like 1 in 4.? Actually bought a ticket when I went to Atlantic City, never cashed in a $3 winner. Jack Pot 1 in 10,000,000 or so. Guaranteed BIG. The same format was used by MUSL in some states, (W.Va. was one) different amount of numbers (17 sets instead of 21). Czar:A high profile lotto game should allow players to choose ALL their numbers-PA could easily have joined Hot Lotto and offer much the same easy odds of winning any prize (as Match 6 is) while allowing players to select all their numbers, and pay $1 per play.New Jersey Lotzee was a smaller game, so it had more of a reason to experiment, like generating automatic QPs, and charge $2 per play.

Maybe. Some people are superstitious. One of the original complaints in 1972 was that people couldn't pick their own. (pre printed tickets). Daily 3 digit games computer generated changed that. The Winner's Choice game (mid-70's) was supposed to have changed that, but it didn't last long enough since people didn't buy enough tickets to get it to operate. Yeah, just like Super 6; first play (Row A) can be selected. Row B and C is QP. But i don't know for sure how it would work beyond standard 6/49 lotto. I'm only guessing if 10 numbers will be drawn, and the bonus payout. Guess we will all have to wait and see. I don't mind QP's. No number should have a better chance. Czar:Yes, if someone were to win a match 7-10 prize, there would have to be at least one duplicate number in a three game play. That probably has a lot to do with not being able to select all your numbers.

1. To smd: I agree with your cash 5 observations; however, I've gotten away from playing every day in favor of better odds (for some prizes-check individual formats) scratch tickets. I'm exciting to see what the odds and payouts will be for Match 6 Lotto. If they are good I may play the game every week. I've gotten away from playing Powerball every week this year and now seem to find myself only buying it when it goes over $100 Million. I think that is partly because I have not won much this year on the lottery (-$160).The best PA game by far is Cash 5. Any time it's $200,000 or more I play. A few thoughts from PAAgree, Stupid 6 was just that, long odds of winning just $2 for $1. You'd do better in even the Cash 5, a very good game--maybe the next best. The Ironic thing was it replaced both the Keystone Jackpot game (6/33+1/33) which would have been better if the low end prizes were bigger, like $2 for Key Ball and 1, and $3 for Keyball and 2. John:WA Lotto's cash option is several years old...it began long before the first 6/49 was changed to include the gold ball. Quinto should have never been playing cards...how about replacing it with a daily 5/35 ALL-NUMBER game (and dumping Lucky for Life ?) OR Megabucks was the _first_ US lottery jackpot game to offer a cash option (13 years ago).

CASH Only -WA now offers a cash option on Lotto and Quinto - 50% of the announced jackpot value. The Gold Ball game is gone, replaced by Lotto. Lotto is a standard 6/49 game and Quinto is a 5/52 game, with the numbers replaced by a deck of cards.The OR site is unclear on the cash option except on the multi-state games - PowerBall, MegaMillions - so it's probably not offered.gl

smd:I obviously am waiting until we find out EXACTLY what the rules are for Match Six . Personally, it matters little to me how many plays you get for $1 (actually, I didn't see confirmation that you'd pay $1 for three plays.) We really should probably withhold judgement until we see the actual posted odds from the PA Lottery and really get a chance to digest the rules.Frankly, I applaud the PA Lottery for trying unusal rules with it's games. As a PA player I feel like I have a choice in the different types of games we can play. Cash 5 is a very good 5/39 game. Powerball is the best multi-state game (in my opinion). The news article mentioned multiple 6/49 levels and drawings. Might be similar to Oregon's Win for Life and Washington's Lucky For Life (and the discontinued New Jersey Lotzee) games on a smaller scale and a different base, as those games use a 4/77 and 4/82 structure, respectively.

Dower,I hope the PA not misusing words as Ohio did when it changed the Ohio649 to Ohio649Plus. When they added the Bonus ball and stopped paying for a match3 they reduced the amount of winning combinations from 260,624 to 31,024. The different ways to win went up and so did the odds, they tried to confuse more ways to win with more chances to win and they aren't the same.RJOh

I just heard on the news that PA's Super Six will be replaced by Match Six...players will have more chances to win . This is scheduled for Jan. 04.
