If they did merge I would foresee a hike in the odds and the ticket prices to generate larger jackpots. At least a two dollar minimum per play on game slip and another dollar for the multiplier per play. It would be a killing for them at least. But that is a big IF

its two competing groups - it would be like nasdaq and the nyse merging - it just wouldn't happen due to too many competing interests
