I Don't think that they should merge because they can do well on their own. I just think that Powerball and Mega Millions needs some rules changed Like a hike in the odds or a raise in minimum play amount to two dollars a play and an additional dollar a play for the multiplier. The extra money would make the 400 or 500 million dollar jackpots a reality and not someones dream. Plus the cap on jackpots is B.S. in my opinion they can afford the high jackpot payouts.

Wow wee.I didn't think of that one.You know,Alabama and Nevada doesn't have a Lottery but,if they were to do that in all 50 States lol.Those private companies who supply the lottery machines would go Ker Ching lol!Laurajean

Hell no!!!!!The odds of winning in each game are already EXTREMELY unfair to players. So forget a merge...but if some little lotto better odds babies are born from each game, I could live with that...

I don't know if I would say competition, being that I'm from a no lotto state, I like having mm on tues and fri , pb on sat and wed. pb tickets are closer though.....................I have to agree with LaurainMass I like hoppin back and forth to those big jackpots.

with that many states in the mix you would probably get up to 50% of the possible numbers covered,,,you would have to restructure the game. No, lets just increase it at one state per year...

I would not want them to merge because I enjoy playing both - 4 big drawings a week! I live in Maryland (where Mega Millions is played) and just an hour from Pennsylvania (where Powerball is played). What we need is another big lottery that draws on Monday's and Thursday's - that would give me 6 draws a week and I'll rest on Sunday

correction: they called the Feb 1, draw 101M (splitting the prize two ways)...with Aug 23 and Dec 17 both posted as 100M draws. this would make it 17 draws over 100M and 2 draws equal to 100M for the year per the posted numbers.

no ...i like the idea of a little friendly competition. besides, i'd already call Mm and Pb Super Lotteries. i don't think my heart could stand the strain of any more frequent jackpots over 100Million. Powerball alone had 18 draws last year over 100M. (19 draws of 100M and above). that's Super enough for me.
