i think it all depends how much you win. but saying that you should tip a million bucks is really over the top. since i play the same white balls covering all powerballs i'd probably tip one of the loosing tickets = so 500,000 assuming each line was 100k

My earlier comment about not feeling obligated to give a tip doesn't mean that I would not.No one can say for sure how they're going to feel after winning, but I would probably give some kind of tip if I bought the ticket from my regular clerk/store, but I would probably not if I happened to buy the ticket from some other place on a whim.

I've seen folks, in the store that I get my tickets, give the person who sold them the ticket or scratch off a tip for far lesser amounts. It's up to the individual. Since I usually get my tickets from the same person I will definitely give him a nice tip when I win.

i don't feel any obligation to anyone, as i never have felt that anybody owed me anything for something i happen to have done for them. never been into the keep score game myself so.............if i choose to, it will be because i want to and not because someone else feels i am obligated to. ....but something i live by is to treat people fairly around me and i will execute that on my terms, not someone elses. I always give them a Tip ! I tell them ...... Never plant your corn in the Winter time! LOL Serious ....... I do tip some to my friend Wa-Heed when the win is large enough. He always checks and make sure there are never any mistakes. I don't have to run around to alot of different stores cashing in several tickets either......he takes care of all that at one time for me.

I always give the clerks something when I win over 600.00. I worked in a lottery store before and sometimes the goodness of a customer will pay for gas for the next week or buy some groceries. I always give them something if I win. I feel that punching in lottery numbers is a service type business, too. If the customer is too lazy to put the numbers on a card and the clerk is required to input all by hand, to me that deserves some type of gratuity just like waitresses get. You have never

I wouldn't really remember who the store clerk is where I got my ticket, fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on the point of view.) I wouldn't really feel obligated unless there was some other service that they may have done as well (which I really doubt).

I was in the store that sold the Wilson's their winning powerball ticket this morning. It seems that the clerk that sold the ticket was complaining that the Wilson's didn't give a tip or even a thank you to the clerk. Most of the clerks agreed that a million dollar tip would have been the right thing to do. Do you think the winner is obligated to give a tip
