I agree with getting Powerplay (for prize levels of 10M to 60M). It seems expensive when buying the tickets but the way I justify it is two-fold. First, I buy less number sets (sometimes playing one or possibly two sets) when Powerball jackpot is under 60M and making sure the ones I do purchase all have powerplay option. Another method of cutting costs when using Powerplay is to play only a Wednesday or a Saturday draw (but not both) below certain jackpot levels and use the saved dollars for Pow... [ More ]

The power play number was 5. What that means is that if a player chooses to spend an extra $1 per ticket and get the power play option, all winnings, except the top jackpot are MULTIPLIED by the power play number. For example, by matching just the power ball, normally that woud pay $3. With powerplay times 5 , the winnings would be $15. Powerplay varies from 2 to 5. I always do it. I feel its worth it. double or nothing as it were.
