Yeah, I was alwasy hoping if MY numbers came up -- in the official drawing -- that it would be on one of my nights off! :)Twice now, since I've moved away from Virginia, I've gotten 4 out of 6 numbers right in the Big Game/Mega Millions lottery. well, while I enjoyed seeing all the closeup behind-the-scenes stuff, the downside was that on the nights I was on camera crew for the lottery drawings, I was ineligible to play the lottery. So, now that I live in another state and have nothing to do with the lottery, I can play and hope to win

Thanks ChazzMatt for that rundown of how it works I feel somewhat relieved as lots of people I know have doubts as to whether were seeing the actual dawning or a taped version. You have cleared the smoke screen as far as I'm concerned. As spectators we are limited to what is real and what is fake. because the whole crew is there as witnesses and the lottery officials immediately telephone the print and radio media outlets to tell them the numbers which were just broadcast. There's at least two lottery officials who do everything together at all times. So, no one can rig it.Also, some stations carry it live. and how do we as spectators know we are not seeing a taped drawing and not the actual on air drawings. the guy in the booth hss a delay feature he can put in place and show whatever drawing he wished to. Not to include on weekends and holidays how are we as spectators know it's not a taped drawing.

I don't know if I won big a part of me would want to scream it out loud. But after seeing hearing what has happened to other large winners. media coverage and people haunting them for their money. Not to mention as St.germains points out that relatives you didn't even know you had might show up looking for financial help. Hello openminded, my name is BOB and am glad to meet you. As for how much I had won is a matter of public record down at the lotto office where you file your claims. I had won twice. The jackpot at the times of the drawing were 200,000 dollars each time. The first time I had won was in november a couple of years ago and I had to split the pot with one other person as he/she had also gotten all 5 numbers. Some lotteries require in their rules that the winner attend a press conference. If forced to do so, I would say the minimum.I would be very careful to control my own finances though. This is not to say that I would not accept or seek advice, only that I would not extend the right to transactions to another person or organization.I will NEVER advertise to anyone that I have won the lottery. Considering 2004 is still young, with many enormous jackpots yet to be offered this year... very possibly surpassing anything we've seen lately (remember the number of huge Powerball draws we had last year with 22 drawings of $100 Million or more including several well over $200 Million! ...and that's just Powerball alone!) Yes, I'd certainly tell at any level. I'd truly hope others would also tell if they hit the numbers in any jackpot game
