We are wired to look for patterns and find connections, and when we find patterns we interpret them as real. Consequently, many people will see patterns in random numbers. When people see patterns in randomness (e.g., repeated numbers, apparent sequences or winning streaks) they may believe that the numbers aren t truly random, and therefore, can be predicted. Many gamblers have experienced a wave-like roller coaster effect of wins and losses and may believe that you just have to ride out the d... [ More ]

Food for thought.....http://www.camh.net/egambling/issue2/research :The human mind is not very good at dealing with randomness. Our minds are designed to find order, not to appreciate chaos. Ever notice how easy it is to find faces in clouds? We are wired to look for patterns and find connections, and when we find patterns we interpret them as real. Consequently, many people will see patterns in random numbers. When people see patterns in randomness (e.g., repeated numbers, apparent sequences or... [ More ]

Look at this way, your odds of winning the big one was 1:13M but by nothing playing at all you saved a dollar for sure and got to work on time. A lot of lottery players have missed winning the big one by not playing a group of numbers or just playing part of a group and they promise themselves it will never happen again and then they are hooked win or lose.RJOh

Numbers from systems are posted here frequently and you can compare them with actual drawings. I would predict that if you reviewed these systematic numbers and compared them with actual odds, they actually do somewhat worse than truly random draws.I haven't actually done this experiment myself, not having the time, but I have reason to believe that this must be true. Some of us here have discussed the probabilities for particular numbers of winners. Until the jackpot becomes very large and g... [ More ]

According the a post by plnwebguyhttps://www.lotterypost.com/news/82622.htmEric Maxwell, the last MegaMillions winner pick his own numbers and just wanted high numbers so he began with 25 and started counting by 5 and added his fianc 's birth-date (04) as the Mega Ball. And then there was Jack Whittaker, the largest single jackpot winner ever, who bought a $100 worth of QPs.I'm sure there are as many ways to pick your numbers as there are winners. The facts are lotteries are random dvents and y... [ More ]
