pegleg,That's the best idea yet. Would make a great ice breaker in conversation at home. Keep it long enough, it might be worth more than the $7.00 in many years. Tell a long story about the one that got away, but have a framed print of it to prove it. There are more ideas, these are just a few.

I'm not sure how Texas got involved in this. If the ticket was bought in New Mexico, that's where it has to be redeemed. Trying to get Texas to pay a prize on a NM ticket is -----.Suggest you confirm what I'm saying by visiting the Texas lottery website and reading how one wins and collects a prize. First, and foremost, the ticket must have been sold by an authorized retailer. One can send a signed ticket via mail, but the lottery takes no responsibility in dvent the ticket gets stolen by someon... [ More ]

It's against ebay rules to post lottery tickets with a monetary value. Losers are ok. Do a search under the word lottery , you'll always find lots of scratch tickets, all losers. When ever Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots get high someone will post tickets with a offer to mail the high bidder the tickets before the drawing date. Ebay always pulls these auctions, just give them a day or two ,they'll pull this one also. Chas

Geo,If you've ever posted to an Internet forum before, you should be aware that members of the forum are likely to be suspicious of anyone's first posts -- especially if they're trying to sell something. The advice given by the members was very helpful -- to the membership who looks out for each other. Maybe you should put the shoe on the other foot and try to understand things from our perspective. Or are you just totally unaware of all the lottery scams out there

Lets see, you pay for shipping, which will cost 39 cents, and then you will have to pay ebay, i dont know how much but lets say 21 cents. Why are you doing all this for $2.4 dollars($5 - $2 you paid for it - 60 cents)? Why in the world would you go through all this, wasting your time, to earn $2.4

There are so many things wrong with this; I'm sure I'll come up with some later. In the mean time, read what is posted on the e-bay site: Ok, here's the story. I bought a Mega Millions Lottery ticket while visiting my fiance's parents in New Mexico. The pot was up to $150 million and I could not restrain myself. I however, live in Louisville, KY. When I checked my ticket after arriving back in Louisville, I noticed that I had 3 numbers correct. I had won $7 but had no way of cashing the tic... [ More ]

Buyer beware. Very blurry picture. Also, the shipper needs to pay eBay costs, so there a little or no profit in this. Therefore, red flags go up for me. I can't believe anyone would try to auction a $7 winner. They could redeem it through the mail by contacting the Texas Lottery.

If memory serves me it is a postal violation to send lottery tickets through the mail across state lines which is why states do not offer subscriptions out of state. You could however, sign and photocopy the ticket and send it into the Texas lottery for payment. Check their website for how to remit correctly by mail. Likely you are far more legally protected doing that as a signed, claimed bearer instrument, than auctioning it off, although ebay does have everything.
