www.nhlottery.org says there is consideration of a replacement game for Hot Lotto.Let's wait until after the jackpot is hit, and after months of sales in DC and North Dakota.

Just got an e-mail from MUSL confirming that the $3,790,000 jackpot for Wednesday 5/19 is a record high prize for Hot Lotto.

Hot Lotto is a much better game than say, NY 6/59 (players win only 40% of sales), Mass 6/42 and 6/49 (both still annuity-only) and PA Match-6 ($2 per play; 2/3 of numbers are automatic QPs). Hot Lotto WILL be around a while, even if the format is changed. North Dakota will be joining by summer.

Large states like Pennsylvania will never join. Low starting jackpot of one million compared to Powerballs ten million. Hot Lotto has a pitiful $10,000 second place prize compared to Powerballs $100,000.Even Pa Cash 5 is a better bet. The Hot Lotto web site lists the 5/39 odds of one to 607,744 for the $10,000 prize. These would be my recommendations:Have a higher starting jackpot - maybe $5 mill. Most state lotteries are higher than Hot Lotto so there's really no incentive to join it.Let the jackpot rollover based on ticket sales - maybe a minimum rollover of $50,000 but if the ticket sales for that drawing are significant, let it roll over at a higher amount.Mention the numbers at the beginning or end of the televised Powerball drawing. New Hampshire sales are down. Since North Dakota and DC are joining, Hot Lotto is not going away.IMO the game, if changed, would feature longer jackpot odds, perhaps to get more states in.
