Ralph's grocery in CA has one of the machines. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. When the stores were on strike out they shut down this machine and the scratcher machines. But it can be convenient when it is working. No having to wait in line.

Now you understand what I'm saying. I think this would be a useful feature for self-service terminals or an option to be included for filling out play slips.

On both the PowerBall and MegaMillions cards I've seen in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virgina and Michigan, you can check auto pick for the 5 numbers or the bonus ball or both or fill out both section of the card for each combination. If you are willing to take the time to make out the cards you can have any mix of quick picks or personal selections you want.RJOh

Many of the grocery stores in my area have self-service machines for scratch-off tickets but tickets for Pick3, Pick4, MegaMillion, SuperLotto and Buckeye5 are only sold at terminals manned by one of their employee.RJOh

I don't know how widespread they were, but knew of at least one store there that had a self-service lottery machine. That was quite a few years ago.
