It's still hard to argue with the fact that such a high percentage of lottery winners come from QuickPick plays. I realize that a high percentage of people also happen to play QuickPicks, but the fact remains. Regardless of whether numbers are clustered or skewed in any particular fashion, every combination of numbers has an equal chance of being drawn. Quick Picks tend to cluster numbers, nature of the beast. Quick Picks therefore provide a worse chance of having all the winning numbers among those you are playing, with a somewhat better chance of a prize if all the winning numbers are among your Quick Picked lines.Optimal coverage comes from using all the numbers before repeating any.If you haven't anything better than Quick Picks for a system, you'd be better off randomizing 25 numbers for Pick-5 or 36 numbers for Pick-6 and dropping them on... You cannot exchange mega million tickets, in Maryland once it's printed it's yours.

I've had the same thing happen any number of times. I've also noticed that if you make your own selections on a card and take some QuickPicks on the same card. the QuickPicks will reflect a lot of the same numbers that you selected.

i've only had it happen once, and that was when i bought quick picks on the pick 3.

That sounds like the person behind the counter has no idea how to operate the lottery machine. If it happens again, you should tell them to void the ticket and get a new one with different numbers.

have the same number or numbers repeated on 2, 3, or 4 of the lines? I make it a point now to ask for separate tickets.
