Most of the above replies are correct: The vast majority of players do not win because of the astronomical odds. About 70% of all lottery entries are quickpicks and 70% of all jackpots are won by them. Conversely, 30% of entries are non-random and 30% of jackpots are won by people choosing numbers. Playing the same numbers does not impact chances either way. It's not difficult math to calculate........... just difficult to accept. The best of luck to all.

I still select the Powerball or Mega Ball at random though. It probably won't win me anything more than a normal quick pick will though, but it's worth a try. I think that if you were to just pick a number off the top of your head and play it that you might win more often. At least for me that is the case the more energy I expel looking for and trying different systems. I may get three out of four or 2 out of three numbers right but the win

As we've all seen in the news fairly recently, a nice jkpt and a couple of 5of6 Pwrball hits have come from the second, third and fifth draws on tickets with advance draws on the same number sets. It just seems like it can't hurt anything to go ahead once in awhile and get 3,4,5 or more advance draws with the same numbers. Ya' just never know what might happen
