Pick 3 isn't my game but I've been looking to see if there are some systems that I might use if I decide to play. So far I'm just testing them on paper, but if I find something that show any promise, I will write a program to make tracking and picking some numbers easier. This is one system that I'm looking at.I look at the last 2 pick3 winners and if there are no triples or doubles, I use a 10 line wheel to play the 5 numbers (usually one number hit twice which leaves 5 numbers) for a 6 way bo... [ More ]

HelloMrSteel01,you would be correct in what you related! I didn't go far enough to state that the game would be played only as random generic bets. The idea for a novice is to get their feet wet not play high roller then when they feel confident and have gained more knowledge of this animal they could venture heavier bets. My concern as with many others is that a new gambler would get burned hard in the billfold and become extremely un-friendly towards this game and its participants plus any... [ More ]

There is no way around the 50% house edge is what most of us have been saying for years. Bottom line. Gotta hit and run. Better off playing trifectas at horse tracks and using horses that are somewhat longshots. A parimutuel game with a 20% house take it probably 50 times more beatable than a game with a 50% take.

At the risk of stating what is well known by expert players I'll show the novice players how they can win any Pick 3 with only 220 tickets.Of the 1000 numbers only 10 are triples (xxx), 270 are doubles (xxy) and 720 are singles (xyz). By playing 1/3 of all doubles as a 3-way bet and 1/6 of all singles as a6-way bet and then also the 10 triples one would have 90+120+10=220 tickets. One would now be sure of having a winner as all numbers will be covered. But let's look at the money. If a double com... [ More ]
