In California the law is that the person that purchased the ticket is the one that gets the prize or yearly payment. This came up a few months ago when the person that won a big prize in California wanted to remain anonymous (which is also not possible in California).

Never announce you bought the ticket any way but the normal way, Texas earned ill fame by refusing to pay a jackpot bought through Regal a butler service company in New Jersey. There are a number of rules lotteries can use to screw you over, so keep your mouth shut if you win big. BobP

I live in Melbourne, Australia and have bought tickets many times through Playlot (the guys who advertise on the Lottery Post page. Whilst I have not so far hit a Big One (although I wouldn't mind putting this to the test), I have picked up a couple of smaller prizes and have no hesitation in saying that I have always found this service to be prompt and accurate. I have no complaints about them at all.

Hello,I'm currently in the Netherlands but I live in Florida. I get really tempted to play some of these jackpots online when they climb above 100 million. Do any of you all buy tickets online and if you did hit the big one do you think they would honestly pay you or make arrangements to hand you over the winning ticket? also is there any post in the news area that shows someone winning a jackpot that purchased the ticket online? last but not least are the sites on the homepage good sites to pur...
